Bob McDonnell has spent his career serving America and putting his country first. As a young man, he joined the Army ROTC and spent twenty-one years in the United States Army, on active duty and in the reserves. The military tradition runs strong in the McDonnell family; his father served in the United States Air Force and his daughter returned in 2006 from a tour of duty in Iraq with the Army. As Virginia’s Attorney General, Bob has been a national leader in the fight to protect children from internet predators. He has tirelessly worked to reform government and make it work for the people of Virginia. His values, strength, and commitment to his country will serve him well as Virginia’s next governor and I am proud to support him.
Chris Christie represents the spirit of service we need in our leaders. He started his career serving his local community as a Freeholder in Morris County, NJ and earned statewide respect and praise as US Attorney for the District of New Jersey. When he saw corruption, he fought it; his office never lost a case against a public official during his time as US Attorney. Furthermore, Chris Christie never considered party affiliation when it came to doing his job – upholding the laws of the land, rooting out corruption, and taking on corporate bad actors and criminals. I am confident that as Governor of New Jersey, Chris Christie will bring this same spirit to Trenton. He will rebuild New Jersey's economy, protect taxpayers and take on corruption.
